Electronic Prescribing (EPS) has been carried out by the Practice for some time.
However, in February 2020 this will be changing – on 13th February 2020, we will be going to phase 4 EPS.
Patients no longer need to have a nominated pharmacy – these patients will be given a token to be taken to any pharmacy of their choice.
Paper prescriptions will continue to be available but almost all prescriptions will be processed electronically. Please ask at Reception for further details.
We now do ECGs at the surgery without having to refer the the hospital.
Care in the Community more and more people are encouraged to remain independent and get more self-care advice. Practice does suggest all the information which is given by the Kirklees Council in this direction including care and treatment for a minor ailment.
It is more important that you have a safe and long stay in your own accommodation you need to know how to get certain adaptations, i.e. handrails etc. to make your life safer and accident-free.

With advancing, age people with no fault of theirs become isolated due to their health and other circumstances. Our service here is to gauge their requirements and their health needs and to provide appropriate advice involving other health professionals and community workers. Future plans
In house investigations (diagnostic clinic) with some disruption, we are able to carry out this in house investigation which will avoid hospital appointment and patients be seen well prepared in the outpatients already indicating their diagnosis so that they can be treated fast track appropriately.
Planning for a family is the most important wish and opportunity for every prospective mother and father and the Practice is able to offer advice for prospective parents covering all issues relating to mothers and fetus/babies growth.
Our aim is to have a healthy baby with a healthy mother in the right environment to flourish.

Practice has now formally introduced Carer’s slot to be booked by pre-appointment available on Wednesday and Thursday where any patient or their families can discuss their care needs and help and advise if they are facing some difficulties.
